As I have unraveled the intricacies of my soul and have become comfortable in my skin, the window to my heart has opened and light has traveled in. This has not come easily. It has been a lifetime of living and learning through trials; through strife and struggle; through failures and triumphs. I have witnessed pain and tragedy in the lives of people around me and have gained strength from their ability to survive. As a result I have learned to face my own hardships and challenges, and to appreciate the beauty life has within it.
Life is indeed a constant challenge for which I am grateful; how else would we see the beauty, wonder, and magic? At a recent visit to the Tate Modern in London, while I admired the crack in the floor (Shibboleth) created by the Colombian Sculptor, Doris Salcedo, I was reminded of this meaningful line by Leonard Cohen: "There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in".
It is often said that the purpose of life is to grow and acquire wisdom.I have always wondered what exactly "growth" and "wisdom" mean. For me, it has been to remove the walls from around my heart and to allow it to open and soak up the light. This wonderful experience has enabled me to see the world through a cleansed pair of lenses. This is what is prompting me to share my love of music and photography.
I have lived and worked in three different countries on three different continents, and have visited many more. I consider myself a citizen of the universe. In my life's voyage I have people to thank - for guiding me through and helping me.My family and friends and all those who have crossed my path - have each in their own way been instrumental in helping me arrive at this place in life. 2/2008 2/2008
